Marigny Opera Ballet 2025-2026 Season Subscriptions
The Marigny Opera Ballet returns to the stage at the Marigny Opera House for its 12th season of original, contemporary ballet. The three programs feature three premieres, including a full-length ballet for the holidays, and two new works set to the music of Louisiana’s own Sweet Crude Band!

Program 1: Winterlight | December 5-14, 2025
Choreography: Christian Denice
Composer: Traditional Nordic Folk Music arranged by the Danish String Quartet
Come Celebrate! Nationally acclaimed choreographer Christian Denice—of last season’s success, ECHOES—returns to New Orleans to premiere a full-length ballet for the holiday season. Accompanied live by the Delachaise Ensemble, the evening of dance is a festival of light in the dark of midwinter.
Program 2: World Premiere by Shane Urton/Sweet Crude | March 13-22, 2026
Choreographers: Shane Urton & Amalia Najera
Composer: Sweet Crude Band
This season we welcome rising star Shane Urton, former dancer with Joffrey, Royal New Zealand, and Norwegian National Ballets, and dancer/choreographer with Opera Ballet Vlaanderen Ballet (Belgium). Urton’s newest work will be accompanied by an original score by Louisiana’s own Sweet Crude Band. The program also includes a premiere by local choreographer Amalia Najera.
Program 3: ECHOES and DUSK | May 8-17, 2026
Choreographers: Christian Denice, Cassi Abranches
Composers: Ted Joyner, People Museum
The audience favorites from last year’s season return—ready for touring! In the premiere of this program tailor-made to tour festivals and universities, the Ballet performs ECHOES by Christian Denice (2024) and DUSK by Cassi Abranches (2025), to the studio-recorded original music by indie pop band People Museum and Ted Joyner.

As a subscriber, you have a choice of date for each of three productions in the 2025/2026 season. All performances are held at 8PM, with house doors opening at 7:30PM.
General subscriber benefits include:
